Mark Adame ABOUT
ME FAMILY I am an
Air Force brat and one of four children. I was born in San Antonio and
have lived in Florida, England, and went to high school in Tyler,
Texas. I am married to Kristie, who is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and
is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator. We have a
son, Aidan, who was born in 2005. CAREER This is
my fifteenth year of teaching AP Biology and my fourth year at St. Mark's
School of Texas. My
first seven years of teaching were at Mills University Studies High
School, in Little Rock, Arkansas, where I also served as the head cross-country
coach. I then moved back to
Texas, where I taught at Creekview High School for four years in Carrollton,
Texas, as well as serving as the Lead AP Science Coordinator for the
Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. I currently serve as consultant for the
College Board, where I instruct Pre-AP and AP Biology teachers throughout the
south. Before and during my teaching career I worked as a Research Assistant
for 10 years in a physiology
and biophysics lab. EDUCATION I have a BS in Marine Biology from Texas A&M (Galveston) as well as nine hours of graduate courses in Gifted & Talented education. I am currently working toward a masters degree at the University of Texas at Dallas.
