SM Robotics Botball 2006 (16 images)

The game this year was based on a hurricane Katrina scenario: rescue Botguy and some "tribbles" and place them in their color-coded homes for points. The middle of the playing field was barricaded by PVC pipe and very few entrants chose to traverse this "flood zone". In this area was a pendulum-like shelf with high-scoring balls, "tribbles" and Botguy. Our 2 robots divided the playing field tasks between them: ROAR or "Leroy"*was the color sorter that stayed on our home side of the field and used the camera for tracking. Plowbot or "Jenkins"*waded into the flood zone to push the contents of the pendulum onto our scoring side. "Jenkins"* had a tendency to attempt to wildly wander across the barricades and cause mayhem wherever he went!
